DIY Face Mask Ingredients

It’s safe to say that you won’t want to look back at you’re wedding video and remember a dull face with imperfections. Your make up artist might be the best in the biz but they won’t be able to change how you feel. Look good, feel good, right?

Now we want you waking up the morning of your wedding with sunny skies and no breakouts in sight so we’ve compiled a list of DIY treatments for a variety of skin types.

These treatments guarantee to be easy on the wallet and time friendly, so that you can spend more time planning the wedding of your dreams and maybe just increase your dress budget?

The Refreshing Facial:

The oats in this mix helps to gently remove dead skin cells while the cucumber hydrates the face, which is a great remedy for eczema.

  • 3 Tbsp. Rolled Oats
  • ½ Cucumber
  • 1 Tbsp. Honey

Blend the cucumber until it is an even consistency and then add the oats and honey. Massage into face and neck and then leave for 20 minutes. Remove with cool water.

The Moisturising Avocado Mask:

This mix is a fantastic natural treatment as the acidic lemon helps to remove any residue left behind in your pores, and the fatty oils in the avocado moisturize even the driest skin leaving it soft and smooth.

¼ of an avocado mashed

  • 1 Slice of Lemon
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Honey

Mash the avocado until it is smooth and then blend together with lemon juice, olive oil and honey. Apply thick layer into skin and leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

The Sugar Scrub:

If you want to win the award as the bride with the smoothest skin (not that that’s a thing) then this is the treatment for you. The grains of brown sugar help to remove dead skin cells through exfoliation that reveals a face with a healthy glow.

  • 1 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Honey

Combine the sugar, honey and coconut oil to form a thick paste. To apply rub in a circular motion for 1 to 2 minutes, remove with warm water.

The Cleansing Facial:

If you are prone to breakouts than this is the cure for you. The baking soda is a cleaning agent and helps to remove bacteria that can cause a nasty breakout, it will also help to clear out pores and reduce the appearance of blackheads.

  • 1 Tbsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil

Soften coconut oil and mix with baking soda. Apply evenly to face and leave for 15 minutes. Remove with warm water in shower.

Turmeric Facial:

If you are victim to sunspots and uneven pigmentation then sit back and let turmeric to its thing. This spice has recently taken over for its anti-inflammatory benefits, which is why it is perfect to apply to your skin. It is a powerful antioxidant that reduces the appearance of red spots, scars and even acne. This is an essential for all brides-to-be.

  • 1 Tbsp. Turmeric
  • 1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil

Soften coconut oil and mix turmeric through. Apply evenly to face, remembering to avoid eye area. Leave for 15 minutes and then remove in the shower with warm water.

Ice, Ice, Baby:

This is the night before treatment to try. The frozen ingredients work together to increase blood flow to facial muscles, which in turn tightens the skin and leaves you with a youthful appearance.

  • 2 drops of Lavender Oil
  • Water
  • Lavender Buds
  • Ice Cube Mold

Pull the lavender of the stem and sprinkle in the bottom of the ice cube mold. Fill three quarters will water and then add two drops of lavender oil to each cube. Once frozen rub ice cubes over face, paying particular attention to eye sockets to reduce appearance of baggy eyes.
