Our Favourite Honeymoon Getaways

Planning your honeymoon may not seem too important considering that you are also trying to plan the wedding of your dreams so we’ve helped you out by putting together a list of our 5 favourite honeymoon destinations to make life a bit easier for you.

1. Paris, France

This French capital is one of the most clichéd honeymoon destinations of all time, and all for good reason as it is the city of love. Now it made the list not only for this reason but also because it makes for a great vacation whichever season you choose to go. While the summer months mean picnicking under the Eiffel Tower and exploring the city in the sun, the winter months brings about markets and provides a very good excuse to indulge in hot chocolates and patisseries that the Parisians are famed for. The old architecture and rich art history will give you plenty to see and do but if that’s not for you then head out of the city and discover the vast countryside filled with vineyards and quaint villages.

2. Cancun, Mexico

Want the sea view without the price tag? Then Cancun is definitely your location.  This city has one of the most beautiful coral reefs to explore as well as ancient Mayan archeological sites to discover, and then at nighttime there is delicious food to taste and a collection of bars to visit. And if what your chasing is a relaxing poolside stay then choose one of the many resorts that offers all inclusive packages so that once you get there you don’t have to pay a cent and you can spend the days sipping Margaritas in the sun. Just remember to avoid the cohorts of college students that flock here for Spring Break.

3. Hamilton Island, Australia

Leave your passport at home for this one as the next on our list is Hamilton Island, because why go anywhere but your own backyard. Spend your time relaxing on one of Australia’s pristine white beaches or if you’re up for adventure there is plenty of activities to do. With the Great Barrier Reef right there then take the opportunity to explore the depths that are alive with coral and exotic sea life or kayak your way around the Whitsundays. Bonus: You don’t have to worry about a language barrier or trying to mentally calculate the current conversion rate for purchases.

4. Sri Lanka, Asia

This island off the coast of India has an abundance of wildlife just waiting to be noticed. Be at one with the elephants of the Uda Walawe National Park, spend the day climbing the rocky staircases of Sigiriya and at the end of the day relax along the beaches of Colombo. This destination has everything and what we love most is that it isn’t the most frequented place in Asia so you can sight see without have to wrestle through the masses of tourists.

5. Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Bora Bora, a place so nice they named it twice. These crystal clear waters are unrivaled by any other and there is no question as to why it is an internationally celebrated honeymoon destination. By choosing this place you can select a villa on stilts that offers windows into the waters below which will become your own private oasis that you and your newlywed can lock yourself away in. Rejuvenate with spa treatments, cruise around the island on jet skis or paddleboards, or spend your day ordering room service from the deck of your own bungalow. This is our favourite and definitely the ultimate honeymoon destination.
